Mumbai/Pforzheim/Freiburg, November 7, 2014: November 18-20 marks the return of Intersolar India, with the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC) in Mumbai again playing host to representatives of the international solar industry. The Intersolar AWARD ceremony for the Solar Projects in India category is one of the highlights of the exhibition. An expert panel of judges has selected the ten best projects contending for the Intersolar AWARD from a multitude of applications. The winners will be announced in an official ceremony on November 18. This year sees the exhibition and conference drawing even closer together, with the Intersolar India Conference taking place in the BEC conference rooms for the very first time. As a result, it will be even easier for visitors to gain a comprehensive overview of the latest market developments, new technologies, products and services in the solar industry.
From the technical implementation of large-scale plants on flat roofs to optimizing solar yields in ground-mounted installations, this year saw a particularly large number of impressive submissions in the Solar Projects in India AWARD category. Applications also came from the country’s extreme climatic regions, proving that solar technology is not only suitable for temperate environments but can also be used in high mountainous areas and extremely hot locations.
Prize pays tribute to innovative power of the industry
Since 2012, the Intersolar AWARD has been presented for outstanding projects and products that promote the use of solar energy in India to a particularly large extent. It is intended to both pay tribute and give further impetus to the innovative power of the industry. Prizes are awarded in the categories of Off-grid Solutions, Industrial and Commercial Use and Utility-Scale Projects. To make it onto the shortlist, applicants had to demonstrate that their project represented a pioneering solution. Other important criteria include the benefits to society and the environment, as well as economic advantages and the degree of technological innovation. The panel of judges comprises experts from science, industry, research and the trade media.
