Innotech Solars New Low Profile Module Frames Are Tested Up To 8000 Pascal

New frame improves performance and saves transport and storage costs

Munich/Germany, November 27, 2013 – Scandinavian-German solar module manufacturer, Innotech Solar (ITS), has reduced the profile of its modules frames from 43 millimeters to 35 millimeters. The lower profile frame of its photovoltaic modules which is compatible with industry standard clamps for fixing modules to substructure also allows more modules to fit on a pallet than before, enabling customers to save on storage and transport costs. The new frames’ exceptional strength was proven in an 8,000 Pa (Pascal) load capacity test by renowned testing institute TÜV Rheinland (German Technical Inspection Association). Considering that the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) only demands a mechanical load bearing capacity of 5,400 Pa, this load capacity test exceeds standard requirements by far.

“The load capacity test shows that our new frames are able to withstand at least 1,345 kilograms, which is equivalent to the weight of a car,” explains Dr. Thomas Hillig, Vice President Module Sales & Marketing at Innotech Solar. “Therefore they are also particularly suitable for installation in areas of high snow fall or strong winds.”

Innotech Solar optimizes solar cells from leading manufacturers which are used to produce their own modules. Cell optimization is performed in the German city of Halle an der Saale, while module production takes place in Glava, Sweden, at one of Europe’s most modern manufacturing plants. This innovative manufacturing process makes ITS modules particularly environmentally friendly. Their carbon footprint is around 50 percent below that of conventional European modules.

After processing, the cells are thoroughly checked using additional thermal imaging to make sure that they are free from hot spots, which could damage the solar modules and result in significant yield losses. A multitude of tests by independent experts, such as the Photovoltaik-Institut Berlin or PV Lab, demonstrate the high efficiency, longevity and positive environmental impact of Innotech Solar modules.

About Innotech Solar
The Scandinavian-German company manufactures solar modules in Europe and sells them worldwide. Innotech Solar specializes in the production of particularly environmentally friendly modules with optimized solar cells and uses innovative processes developed by in-house research teams to do so.

Innotech Solar optimizes solar cells in Halle an der Saale, Germany, and manufactures its modules in a former REC solar factory in Glava, Sweden, which thanks to its fully automated production lines is one of Europe’s most modern manufacturing plants. The production process is powered at both sites using 100 percent renewable energy.
