Low-cost Irradiance Sensor SiP-13TC
Ingenieurbüro Mencke und Tegtmeyer GmbH is expanding its range of silicon solar irradiance sensors with a new sensor type in the low-cost segment. As is already the case on the standard sensors, this device also incorporates a very high quality sensor element in the form of a crystalline solar cell embedded in EVA behind glass. As a consequence exact installation monitoring as has been the standard for many years in large installations is now possible in smaller photovoltaic installations. This monitoring makes it possible for the operating organisation to safeguard revenues by detecting reduced output in good time. The basic accuracy of ±8% at 1000 W/m² over the entire temperature range from -20 to 50°C provides an adequately accurate instrument for determining the irradiance for PV installations up to 10 kWp. The sensor type SiP-13TC is of course available temperature-compensated and with an output signal of 10 V at 1300 W/m² and is therefore compatible with various monitoring systems.
