HUSUM Wind 2017: voices, opinions and points of view of industry and politics

HUSUM | 14 September 2017 – After the forced break at HUSUM Wind yesterday afternoon, this morning the exhibitioners were able to present their innovations as usual and enter into discourse with colleagues and visitors. “We are pleased we were able to open all the exhibition halls again today. Our team having fixed all the damage last night, it looks almost as though nothing ever happened. The mood is excellent and the encouragement from the exhibitors has been a great motivation for us”, said Peter Becker, managing director of Messe Husum & Congress.

Businesses, associations and politicians sit together at the same table in Husum and discuss the strengths and potentials of the wind industry in a relaxed atmosphere.

Daniel Günther, Minister-President of Schleswig-Holstein:

“We want to use wind power more and better here in Schleswig-Holstein. Through sector coupling or better storage possibilities, for example. To this end we must create more opportunities in the EEG (Renewable Energy Sources Act).”

Hans-Dieter Kettwig, Managing Director ENERCON:

“As manufacturers we must bear in mind where the electricity we produce actually goes, and we have to work towards acceptance of wind energy at the same time. Instead of always higher and bigger, for every location we have to consider what we install. At our stand and in the halls, we have seen that people involved in wind energy never let up – and neither does the wind.”

Bernhard Zangerl, Chair of the Wind Industry Working Group of the VDMA and Managing Director of Bachmann Electronic:
“HUSUM Wind was the birth of wind trade fairs and today, together with Wind Energy Hamburg, it has enormous global potential. This is where you see the latest technological innovations.”

Daniel Schauer, Managing Director ee technik gmbh:

“Sebastian also showed the non-North Frisians why Husum is the cradle of the wind industry. The hurricane temporarily interrupted the trade fair but we don’t let that dampen our spirits: we spontaneously shifted our stand event into our office building and postponed our appointments where possible. Now we’re looking forward to the final spurt, and more successful and interesting conversations.“

Alexander Bendler, Chair dasNetz AG

“Netz AG wants to create standards and expand the subject of digitalisation, whereby our focus is primarily on service vessels for the offshore wind industry. HUSUM Wind is exactly the right place to discuss this topic and to network. The fair, familiar and well organised, was a total success for us and we’ll come again with pleasure.”

HUSUM Wind and WindEnergy Hamburg

HUSUM Wind takes place from 12 to 15 September 2017 and focuses on the industry’s most important core market: the cutting edge German wind energy market. Over 650 exhibitors from the onshore and offshore wind industries will be showcasing their most important products and innovations. Every two years this traditional wind industry meeting place in the heart of wind pioneer country on the North Sea coast provides a forum for comparing notes and creates practically oriented added value. WindEnergy Hamburg will be held at Hamburg Messe from 25 to 28 September 2018. The industry’s leading trade fair is the global summit for the onshore and offshore wind industries
