Holger Clasen at WindEnergy 2014, Hamburg, Germany

Optimum functionality with the smallest possible dimensions – the entire product range of HOLGER CLASEN GmbH & Co. KG based in Hamburg is geared towards these demands of installation and service engineers from the wind energy industry. The trade fair innovation that the owner-operated company now presents at WindEnergy 2014 also uncompromisingly puts this claim into practice: the AP 200 two-stage hydraulic battery pump for operating separate crimping and cutting heads is ideally suited to mobile use. Moreover, on stand 310 in hall B2 (on the ground floor), trade fair visitors can satisfy themselves of the advantages of a practical combination set of crimping and cutting tools in one case and of various angle grinders and orbital sanders.

“The engineers who drive their service vehicles from one call to the next every day want one thing above all: simple, convenient tools. Nothing is more annoying than carrying around unnecessary weight or taking up storage space in the vehicle for functions that are never used in everyday work,” HOLGER CLASEN Managing Director Lennart H. Clasen explains. The traditional company knows exactly what the requirements are for optimum equipment in service for the wind energy industry and has now developed the AP 200 hydraulic battery pump specifically for mobile use. This pump is based on the tried and tested technology of the ANP 450. Whereas the previous model is designed for both stationary and mobile use, the range of functions and the performance of the AP 200 are completely geared to mobile use. With dimensions of 380 × 205 × 240 mm and weight of only 7.7 kg, the new pump can be fitted into every service vehicle. A robust carrying handle on the top side of the pump facilitates ergonomic transport.

Practical Combination Set in a Case
With crimping and cutting tools too, HOLGER CLASEN has developed a proven product for mobile use – for example for the installation of cable lugs for connecting wind energy plants. “Our combination set combines the RS 5-F cutting tool and the RC 14-A crimping tool in one carrying case and is well established on the market. It is ideally suited to installation and service work on wind farms,” HOLGER CLASEN Product Manager for Hydraulic Tools Ulrich Strecker emphasises. The RS 5-F cutting tool is particularly suited to cables in classes 5 and 6. RS 5-F cuts the fine-stranded conductors with an excellent cross-section, without jamming. The RC 14-A crimping tool stands out for the option of time-saving 14 mm wide crimping with 140 kN crimping force. Compared with conventional narrow crimping, 50 % fewer crimping processes are needed here. A fast feed further increases the efficiency.
