Here Enterprises, Inc. is developing its firm wind energy generation project in Floresville, Texas. Texas leads the nation in wind power production with 9,727 MW of installed capacity.
According to the United States Department of Energy’s 2009 Wind Technologies Market Report published in August 2010, Texas again dominated in terms of new wind power capacity, with 2,292 MW installed in 2009 alone. Texas has more installed wind power than any other U.S. state and all but five countries worldwide.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) reported that wind accounted for 6.2% of Texas’s electricity production in 2009, up from 4.9% in 2008 and 2.9% in 2007. (ERCOT, 2009 Annual Report, July 2010)
