GP Solar wins iF product design award for measuring

Technology company GP Solar GmbH of Constance, Germany has been awarded the prestigious iF product design award for its laboratory measuring device GP ISO-TEST .Waf. In awarding the design prize, created in 1953, the jury not only took into account the sleek exterior of the measuring device but also its functionality, level of innovation, and environmental impact. Those are precisely the strong points of the device for analyzing the edge isolation of diffusion wafers in solar manufacturing.

The revamped GP ISO-TEST .Waf is distinguished by its improved ease of use, a higher degree of measurement accuracy and extended functionality (parallel measurement of all edges, automatic identification of diffused wafer side,
etc) along with an ergonomic design and a highly refined exterior.

“We are extraordinarily pleased that we were able to combine the high quality of our product with a bold design without influencing the price”, says Dr. Eric Rüland, managing director of GP Solar, a 100-percent subsidiary of centrotherm photovoltaics AG. “As a supplier to the solar industry, that puts us on the right path toward fulfilling the expectations of our customers in regards to production costs.”
An international jury of experts presents the iF design award every year in the categories “product”, “communication”, “material”, and “packaging”.
