FuturaSun, leading Italian company in the production of high efficiency photovoltaic panels, expands its manufacturing capacity with a new factory in Taizhou: 4 highly automated lines with an annual production capacity of 500 MW. Strong point: the new Silk stringer machines designed in Italy, double the output in half the space.
FuturaSun consolidates its supply chain and opens a new factory in Taizhou, with the aim of directly challenging behemoths of the photovoltaic sector, on Chinese soil. By adopting particularly high technological quality and energy efficient Italian solutions, the Veneto-based company is deploying its innovative strategy, based on an Italy-China partnership.
The new FuturaSun plant will occupy a 20,000 m2 site and consist of 4 highly automated lines, guaranteeing an annual production capacity of 500 MW. With this business project, production capacity is soon to increase to 1 GW.
The new Silk stringer machines are the heart and soul of this project and have been designed in Italy by the FuturaSun team in collaboration with a spin-off of the University of Padua. What makes the new patented stringing system so special is its innovative welding system, coupled with a high degree of automation and maximum precision, enabling double the production in half the space, not to mention extremely low levels of energy consumption. It also enables extensive operative flexibility for the processing of cells ranging from 5 to 12 busbars and is also adaptable for future “busbar-less” applications.
