In July 2011 RIMAS acquired the solar activities of Vitrododi Solar, producer of glass washers. The start of an Italian Dutch love affair: Italian design, made possible in Holland.
The Vitrododi glass washer activities will remain under the Vitrododi brand name. RIMAS has taken over the company together with it’s technology base and wants to build on the good Italian work that has been done in recent years. The units will be part of RIMAS solar production lines and also find it’s way into the market through the usual Vitrododi sales channels. It will lead to a better market position but also to better products.
Together with Managing Director Sjano Gallardo, Vitrododi founder Luigi Dodi has ambitious plans. Dodi: “Now production is in place – the factory is producing its first series of glass washers – we want to make steps in product development. We believe that together we can make our equipment more customer friendly and easier to integrate. It is great that RIMAS’ integration and technical capabilities, allow us to evolve to a higher level”.
The first series of “Made in Holland” glass washers will be shipped to Canada and Azerbaijan, as part of turnkey RIMAS production lines. Other units will become part of a Ecoprogetti 150MW line, in the Republic of China. It shows the worldwide potential of Vitrododi equipment.
RIMAS has serious plans with it’s newest business unit. Gallardo: “Using our development and engineering skills, on top of the Italian knowledge base, it gives us new possibilities. We aim to combine functions and in parallel improve mechatronic and software specs. As a result we improve functional, energy and noise performance”.
RIMAS and Vitrododi expect to announce new innovations, early 2012.
