Eurotron Equipment Producing The Worlds First Mwt Mono Iec Certified Module

During the upcoming PV SEC, Eurotron will show the world’s first MWT-mono IEC-61215 certified module on their booth (Hall A4 / Booth A16).
This module has been developed and produced by TSC Solar BV, The Netherlands. It shows a 19% cell efficiency resulting in an impressive encapsulated module efficiency of 18,1%. Development of the MWT mono n-type technology on 210 mm (8″) has been done by TSC Solar in cooperation with ECN.

Bram Verschoor, commercial director of Eurotron: “we are proud to show demonstrate TSC Solar’s module on our booth. Again, our equipment has proven it’s versatility. By simply changing a setup, we have been able to produce modules based upon 8″ cells. With this size the module line output can be increased to an astonishing 280MW per year, nearly 5 times more than conventional stringer-tabber solutions.”

IEC-61215 is a recognized industry standard that verifies that modules have passed the required series of tests and are suitable for long-term operation in a wide range of outdoor climates. These tests examine the important technical requirements for photovoltaic modules, namely reliability, durability, efficiency, electrical and performance degradation over time. IEC certification for photovoltaic modules is a requirement for sales to the global market.

About Eurotron
Eurotron BV (www.eurotron.nl) offers a complete solution for the photovoltaic module manufacturing process based upon backside contact cells and produces assembly equipment ranging from 15 MWp up to 150 MWp annual production per line (based upon 156 mm cells). Module fabrication is designed for all sorts of backside contacted Si-cell platforms such as MWT, EWT and IBC. Among other advantages such as a higher yield, lower CAPEX, etc, the largest advantage is shown in an extreme reduction of Serial losses. As a result of that, the modules being produced by this platform range in the high-end and can be produced at significant lower costs.
In order to capture solar energy for an affordable price, Eurotron feels challenged to produce and continuous develop high-quality and high-speed equipment which will contribute to decrease the solar module price and improve both quality and lifetime.
