Washington, DC – Empowerment Solar launched their first fundraising campaign on Indiegogo today to fund its mission of providing distributed solar electricity systems to communities across the Middle East and North Africa. The company seeks to raise $50,000 in forty days to fund staff training, initial projects, and startup costs.
“My U.S. Marine Corps experience in Iraq showed me how communities throughout the Middle East and North Africa have suffered without reliable electricity,” stated Empowerment Solar Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer Jonathan Morgenstein. “I have since dedicated my career to helping solve this problem, and through Empowerment Solar, we will be able to give these communities the energy they need to help businesses grow and families thrive. As these communities develop, we are helping create a more stable and peaceful Middle East through solar power.”
The Indiegogo campaign can be viewed at www.empowermentsolar.com/indiegogo and continues through December 20, 2015. There are a variety of perks available for contributions. The campaign also kicks off with a special event Monday, November 9, 2015 from 5-8:30 PM EST at Poste at 700 F St NW, Washington, DC 20004.
