Earth, Wind and Tyre

A team from leading renewable energy consultancy and service provider, Natural Power, is set to hit the road this weekend for ‘Earth, Wind and Tyre’, the two-day, wind-themed road cycling challenge that raises money for Renewable World, a charitable organisation that tackles poverty through renewable energy.
Now in its fifth year, this event brings together teams and individuals from across the renewable energy industry.  Callum McLean, David Armour, Joanne O’Leary, Neil Marshall and Alex Wray make up the Natural Power team that will cycle the 216-mile trip from Durham to Edinburgh. In celebration of clean energy, the route passes by 11 iconic wind farms, including Fred Olsen Renewables’ Crystal Rigg, with leg-testing climbs and euphoric views. It’s a truly spectacular event for all involved.
Natural Power’s team has a fundraising target of £2,500 with 50% being funded by the company.
Every penny that’s raised while taking part in the cycle challenge will help change the lives of those living in some of the poorest communities in the world; providing them with a clean and sustainable source of energy to light homes, pump clean water, and power small businesses.
