DuPont Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Heraeus

Complaint Alleges Infringement of Patent Relating to DuPontTM Solamet® Photovoltaic Metallization Paste Technology

DuPont today filed a lawsuit against Heraeus Holding GmbH and Heraeus Materials Technology, LLC for allegedly infringing a DuPont patent related to its front-side metallization paste materials used in solar cell technology.

In its federal court filing here today, DuPont alleged that Heraeus has infringed DuPont U.S. Patent No. 7,767,254 B2, by manufacturing solar cells and inducing its customers to manufacture solar cells, using Heraeus H94XX series and H92XX series front-side silver pastes.

DuPont plays a key role in enabling growth in the solar energy market by providing advanced materials and process technology. The DuPontTM Solamet® product line is the leading technology for metallization in crystalline silicon and thin film solar cells, and has been instrumental in the great gains in efficiency of solar power, making it more competitive with other means of electricity generation.
