The supervisory board of wpd AG has renewed the management contract of Dr. Hartmut Brösamle in advance by another five years. By extending the contract, the supervisory board acknowledges the successful work of the board of directors and achieves continuity for the lasting growth of wpd AG.
Having a degree in computer science and system science, the 47-year-old has more than 16 years of experience in various leading positions in the wind energy sector and has been a member of the wpd AG board of directors for the last six years.
The head of the supervisory board, Dr. Klaus Meier, says: “For many years, we have been growing strongly with lots of changes. In this process, constants are just as important as the will for change. Dr. Brösamle is an important constant, he is materially responsible for the development of our company both in Europe and non-Europe as well as for the furthering of our stable onshore business in Germany. We are very glad that we were able to win him as director for five more years.”

wpd is a worldwide developer and operator of wind farms. In total, the company has realised projects with appr. 1,400 turbines and an output of 2.2 GW. The company is planning projects with 7,5 GW in total. Moreover, the group is one of Europe’s leading offshore developers with a pipeline of 10 GW. Currently, wpd is in the procurement phase for the Butendiek project. wpd develops offshore projects in Germany, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, France and Italy.
