Dow Participates at Windpower 2011


Dow provides a myriad of solutions to those in the alternative energy industry hoping to capture the power of the wind. Three business units from The Dow Chemical Company will be exhibiting at Windpower 2011, May 22-25 in Anaheim, California.

Dow Wire & Cable, with six decades of experience and expertise in the energy industry, will feature the importance of materials in the design and construction of reliable, long life medium, high and extra high voltage underground and submarine power cables.

Dow Formulated Systems will highlight its AIRSTONETM Systems for Wind Energy that are based on proven epoxy technology that can make wind blades stronger, lighter and easier to produce. In addition, the business will feature its COMPAXXTM Foams, core materials for the construction of composite wind blades that are light in weight with excellent static and dynamic mechanical strength.

Dow UCONTM will present its GL-320 Lubricant which has been developed to improve turbine power output by reducing gearbox frictional losses and reducing turbine downtime due to cold temperature startup, fluid changes and gear box failure.
