Convent Offshore – The Number 1-Growth Champion 2016 in Human Resources


Oldenburg. The Convent Offshore GmbH was awarded last week (Nov 17th, 2015) by the German news magazine named Focus as one of the growth champions 2016. Thereby the company has established itself as a specialist for personnel services in the offshore wind energy.
The company lies with an average growth of 146 percent between 2011 and 2014 well ahead its 26 competitors (Place 2 109 percent, Place 3 103 percent) in the sector of human resources.

Among the 500 honored growth champions the team around the CEO Thorben Schiborowski and 130 operators is ranked No. 18. “This is a strong confirmation of the market that our focus on a diverse human resource management of highly qualified offshore experts represents exactly the right way for the future”, said Schiborowski pleased. “Being offshore means to overcome a variety of challenges from our customer’s perspective. This guarantees the highest safety and quality standards as possible for the customer. Our aim is to be the first point of contact in the offshore wind energy in the context of external personnel deployment.”

The Focus appreciates competence in the offshore wind energy

In this context the Focus honored especially the ability of the Oldenburger specialists to respond quickly, flexibly and safely to the complex needs of the customers and fulfilling them in the end. It is the key competence to recognize these demands of offshore work and to handle them reliably through the use of perfect systems. Thereby the necessary manpower with the best skills is available at the right time and at the right place.

In-house training and education guarantees quality needs
The in-house training institute as a proactive quality driver supports the innovative service concept. “This idea arose from the experiences in the different customer projects. There are certain standards that every employee has to bring with, but these are often not trained extensivel”, explains Schiborowski. The Convent College provides a closed training concept with 18 modules to train its own offshore technicians for the different challenges. “Because of the fact that no opponent could offer that range of necessary competences, we developed them ourselves. Time-consuming and expensive retraining will be avoided by this way. All our customers can fully concentrate on their technological challenges, “said Schiborowski further.

Clear positioning in the offshore industry
The Convent Offshore GmbH positions itself significantly differently from other personnel lessors in the offshore wind energy. By the exclusive focus on the offshore sector, the company fulfils market opportunities much earlier. Through this aspect convent actually covers a recent network of 800 offshore-certified service technician for the industry.
