Bosch presents communication system for solar inverters

  • Simplified planning, initial operation and monitoring
  • Data transfer and configuration in seconds via RFID interface
  • Integrated programme for the configuration and analysis of performance data

Hamburg/Böblingen ? Bosch Power Tec will present the innovative ‘e.World’ communication system for the first time at the Intersolar Europe in Munich from 19 to 21 June 2013. The system significantly simplifies the planning and installation of photovoltaic systems and also includes the monitoring of systems.
Inverters take on a number of functions that go far beyond the conversion of direct into alternating current. They have long since become a bi-directional communication interface between generators and consumers and thus actively contribute to feed-in management and, in turn, to stabilising the power grid.

‘e.World’ offers the installer numerous access opportunities through the innovative networking of solar inverters with all peripheral devices, even after initial operation, in order to conduct the adjustments required by energy supply companies.

Simplified planning and installation
After planning the system with the help of the ‘e.Designer’ sizing software, numerous tools are available to the installer for quick and error-free installations. Alongside Ethernet interfaces, the new solar inverters also have an RFID communications interface. The setting of connection standards such as the ‘land’ and ‘language’ parameters takes place within a second with the credit card-sized ‘e.Key’ onto which this data is saved.

The professional ‘e.Data’ setup tool allows the configuration and analysis of the inverters as well as the installation of updates directly on-site using WLAN or an Ethernet interface, which creates the ‘e.Connect’ component regardless of location. No software installation is necessary, as the program is already installed on the inverter. The installer immediately receives a graphically prepared display of all performance data of the inverters installed in the system and the U/I characteristic for detailed analysis.

Monitoring
The ‘e.Web’ internet portal is available free-of-charge to installers and even the system operator. The portal is a user-friendly solution that provides the system operator with a whole range of component and performance data relating to the photovoltaic system available at all times. Detailed analyses of yield-related parameters in addition to variance comparisons are displayed in clear graphic illustrations.

It also provides opportunites to communicate with the inverter via smart phone using the ‘e.UserApp’ and the ‘e.Web’ webportal in order to call up relevant operation data. For example, this allows you to call up the current feed-in performance as well as the operating parameters (e.g. language) to be set, or Firmware updates to be undertaken.

Accessories
All Bosch BPT-S series inverters are prepared with ‘e.Control’ for data exchange with data loggers and the receipt of control signals. This means the adjustment of the active power to 70% or the gradual adjustment according to EVU projections is optionally possible.

Bosch Power Tec’s booth at Intersolar: Hall A2 / Booth 270Bosch Power Tec GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH and was founded in January 2011. The business purpose is the development and sales of electronic power components for the use of renewable energies. The portfolio includes highly-efficient solar inverters, pre-fabricated inverter stations, system management solutions and pioneering electricity storage technologies.
