Bond Pearce advises REG on new strategic partnership with BlackRock with the sale of two wind farms

Energy lawyers at law firm Bond Pearce have advised Renewable Energy Generation Limited (REG), the leading UK renewable energy group, on a new long term strategic partnership with a fund managed by BlackRock. As part of this new partnership, the team advised on the immediate sale of two recently built wind farms at Sancton Hill and South Sharpley. The 10MW and 6 MW sites were sold for a total enterprise value of £32.1m.

Corporate Finance partner Sebastian Briggs led the team who advised REG on this deal. He commented: “REG is truly committed to the development of the renewables sector and continues to deliver significant projects for the sector. This strategic partnership with BlackRock will give REG the opportunity to continue its investments in its outstanding development team and deliver more operational sites.”

Simon Wannop, Commercial Director of REG, said: “We are delighted to enter a long term relationship with BlackRock. REG has invested heavily in its development pipeline and is now seeing the benefits of this expenditure in terms of new planning applications and consents. A strategic partnership with BlackRock allows us to continue to recycle capital to fund future growth and enhance returns to shareholders. The Bond Pearce team supported us throughout the process and their expertise in the renewables sector proved instrumental in this successful outcome.”
