BLACK ISLAND WIND TURBINES NOW SHIPPING HR3 WIND TURBINES Two Turbines En Route to The Antarctic

Black Island Wind Turbines is now shipping all-new HR3 turbines, for demanding wind power applications worldwide. Based upon the original legendary design, Black Island has made a few minor modifications to enhance the legendary reliability of this pedigreed turbine. Notes Bill Stein, CTO at Black Island: “After review of the outstanding 30+ year service of the HR3, we made some upgrades to the electrical components and modernized the electrical controls. Modern manufacturing techniques helped with fabricating some of the more demanding machine elements.”

Currently, as part of a DOE/NREL contract, one turbine is undergoing testing at West Texas A&M. Two turbines are headed for Mt Newell in the Antarctic, to supply power to a USAF facility there.
