Arenko will use its proprietary, enterprise grade Nimbus software to optimise Orsted’s 20MW Carnegie Road battery energy storage system (“BESS”) in Liverpool, UK.
Nimbus is expected to go live at the site in February and will be used to maximise the trading performance of the BESS across all the main power trading markets and ancillary services.
As the world’s largest offshore wind developer Orsted represents an important new customer for Arenko and a further validation of our product suite.
Following Arenko’s best year to date with major new contract wins with RWE, SMS, Gresham House, Gore Street and Varco in 2024, this deal is the first time Orsted and Arenko are working together and reflects yet another major energy company (having previously also added ENGIE and Vattenfall) turning to Arenko’s Nimbus SaaS solution to run their battery and renewables assets.
Whilst it is being used for optimisation purposes under this deal, Nimbus customers benefit from a range of applications across trading, asset management, site safety and back-office management functions. The Nimbus platform operationalises data flows, unlocks site connectivity and delivers automation linking all stakeholders onto a single common digital platform for their assets.
