In Turkey the Super Lig is growing and therefore the country needs a new sport infrastructure. That’s why TOKI, the governmental agency for housing, is carrying out an important investment in cooperation with the Sports Ministry.

Antalya Stadium, with a capacity of nearly 33.000 covered seaters, is part of this new infrastructure. Designed by Azaksu Mimarlik, authors of numerous sports designs across Turkey and abroad, it includes a solar plant on its 10.000 m2 rooftop area, to help general profitability selling energy to the grid.

The total cost of the stadium is almost 80 million Turkish Lire (about 26 Million Euro), 5% of this amount refers to the solar plant section whose return of investment will take almost 6 years.

The project of the plant has been carried on by SEISO, one of the leading suppliers in the Turkish photovoltaic market . SEISO won the “2014 Best Solar Plant of Turkey”, award given by the Turkish Ministry of Energy, and is working on many similar sport facilities in Qatar, in preparation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
