aleo solar AG, together with its partner UK Solar Provider Ltd., offers technical solutions to help customers across the UK take advantage of their own self-generated solar electricity. Since May 2011, a 95-kilowatt system installed on a barn roof in South Cambridgeshire has been producing enough electricity to power farm operations such as grain drying in summer. This system’s annual yield is calculated at 84,800 kilowatt hours – 40 percent of which is fed into the public grid and 60 percent of within the farm itself. All told, this prevents over 75 tons of CO2-emissions from being produced.
For the farm’s owners, this photovoltaic system, comprised of 416 aleo S_19 modules installed on three barns is a double win. Not only do they receive the Feed in Tariff, for each kilowatt hour generated, but they also save on conventional electricity costs. As electricity prices are rising faster than ever, the use of self-generated solar power is a very attractive option.
“Intelligent usage and management systems will help to steer electricity use to correspond with periods in which a solar power system produces the most electricity. Transparent control is the key to achieving this” explained Giovanni Buogo, aleo solar AG’s Sales Manager for Europe. The yield percentage dedicated for private consumption can be managed using monitoring and control systems. When sufficient electricity is being produced on the roof, it can be used in the most effective way to maximise the potential of the solar power.
In order for such a long-term investment to be a success, it is important that photovoltaic system is installed by authorised professionals, using only high-quality modules. Germany’s aleo solar, a manufacturer of premium solar modules, offers both a 10-year product warranty and a 25-year performance guarantee. Modules from aleo solar are only sold by authorised dealers who not only work closely with the end customer, but also have a direct working relationship with the aleo technical and support teams. This ensures that systems are professionally installed, for optimised performance and longevity.
