7th Wind Power Asia set on promoting sustainable energy development in China

7th Wind Power Asia set on promoting sustainable energy development in China Stronger political and trade support, preliminary conference program unveiled.

The 7th Wind Power Asia will focus on technological and political solutions to promote renewable energy and synergize with the central government’s directive for a low carbon technology driven economy as announced at the National Congress in early March 2010. A series ofmeasures outlined by the Chinese government include improving energy efficiency, increasing energy conservation and lowering carbon emission by developing sustainable energy sources, with special emphasis on wind energy generation. Further, in line with the government’s policy of promoting scientific and economic development, the National Energy Administration has listed speeding up the transformation of energy development as the top of the agenda in 2010. As such, energy planning of the 12th Five-Year Plan being formulated now has put more emphasis on clean energy development. These policies serve as direct boosters for the development of Wind Power Asia which signals new opportunities for both manufacturers and trade buyers.

Wind Power Asia 2010, held simultaneously with Clean Energy Expo China 2010, is managed by Koelnmesse, the China Electricity Council and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Beijing Sub-council. The cooperation of the three parties aims to speed up the optimization of the energy mix in China; establish a steady, economical, clean and safe energy supply system; and achieve sustainable economic development through sustainable energy development.

Till date, Wind Power Asia has registered more than 200 confirmed exhibitors. It is expected that well over 300 exhibitors will sign up and the exhibition area will cover 25,000sqm.

With their support, the exhibition will for the first time feature the complete supply-demand value chain consisting of the upstream power grid corporations, power groups and the downstream equipment manufacturers and spare parts suppliers.

Wind Power Asia has also been earmarked by the mayors of Cologne, Germany and Beijing for a cooperation between the two sister cities as part of the “Green Beijing” project.

Other domestic and international institutions and organizations like the Energy Saving Cooperation Alliance (ESCA), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) are official supporters of the trade fair.

Multi-channel and multi-level approach on visitor promotion
