3E connects the newly opened solar railway tunnel to its SynaptiQ monitoring and optimisation tool
On Friday June 3rd, 3E, a global energy consultancy and software product company, completed the connection of its monitoring and optimisation software platform, SynaptiQ, to the largest solar powered railway tunnel in Europe.
The solar tunnel, developed by PV developer, Enfinity, in association with Belgian railway operator Infrabel, is an impressive 3.4 kilometres long tunnel on the high speed rail link between Brussels and Amsterdam, integrating a 4 MWp installation. Initiated by Solar Power Systems, the project was supported by the municipalities of Brasschaat and Schoten, and their financial partners Ika and Finea.
Enfinity O&M team uses SynaptiQ to continuously monitor the performance of the 50 000 m² installation and
optimize O&M activities.
“It is impressive to follow the performance of this pioneering solar project with our innovative product SynaptiQ as part of Enfinity’s international portfolio of PV parks,” said Geert Palmers, CEO of 3E.
In total, SynaptiQ has connected to over 250 large scale industrial PV parks in the last year and is now providing independent data analysis and reporting to O&M managers, investors and project developers in 6 countries.

The new mobile app of SynaptiQ is being launched at Intersolar 2011. This SynaptiQ app for iPad and smart tablet is designed for park operators, investors and owners who need quick reliable overviews of the health of their PV assets, on the go.
