2014: Amsterdam hosts the 29th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition from 22 to 26 September 2014

The 29th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC 2014) takes place in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from 22 to 26 September 2014 (Conference: 22 to 26 September 2014, Exhibition: 23 to 25 September 2014). This is the second time that Amsterdam is focal point for the global photovoltaic (PV) solar sector gathering experts from PV research and industry at the RAI Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The EU PVSEC is held annually at changing European locations. This unique PV solar event constitutes the world’s leading science-to-science, business-to-business and science-to-industry platform for the entire PV value chain.

EU PVSEC Executive Director Peter Helm: ‘The EU PVSEC takes advantage of Amsterdam’s location and infrastructure, offering excellent conditions to our Conference Participants, Exhibitors and Trade Visitors. This attractive European hub can be reached quickly and easily from all over the world. It is uniquely situated, a mere eight minutes from the city centre and 15 minutes from Schiphol International Airport. With a perfect convention and exhibition centre and a large selection of hotels in all categories, Amsterdam provides an ideal environment for all those attending this international event.’

This year, the 28th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition was held from 30 September to 04 October in Paris, France. With 1,600 conference presentations, an additional 150 contributions at the Parallel Events, and the major industrial innovators on the exhibition floor, the EU PVSEC 2013 took up its role as a driver for photovoltaic technologies and for the accelerated global implementation of PV as a major electricity source.

The Conference Proceedings 2013 are being published already this month and represent the most up-to-date compendium of the state-of-the-art of global photovoltaic science, technologies and applications.

Background EU PVSEC
For many years, the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (EU PVSEC) has combined a renowned international scientific conference with a leading PV industry exhibition and trade fair. During 5 conference and 3 trade fair days, new products and technical innovations from all areas of photovoltaics and from all over the world are on show.

The EU PVSEC (2013) is supported by European and international organisations such as the European Commission, UNESCO – United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, Natural Sciences Sector, WCRE – World Council for Renewable Energy, ESA – European Space Agency, OME – Observatoire Méditerranéen de l’Energie, REN21 – Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century, EU PV TP – European Photovoltaic Technology Platform, ARE – Alliance for Rural Electrification, EPIA – the European Photovoltaic Industry Association, IPVEA – the International Photovoltaic Equipment Association, EPIC – European Photonics Industry Consortium, AIE – European Association of Electrical Contractors, SASIA – Saudi Arabia Solar Industries Association, CABA – Continental Automated Buildings Association.
