BBB Umwelttechnik GmbH (BBB), one of German’s leading wind energy service providers with sites in Gelsenkirchen and Weiden, is celebrating its 15th anniversary. Following its establishment in the spring of 1996 by Klaus Bergmann and brothers Gerhard and Joachim Binotsch, the wind experts have overseen a continuous expansion of the company. It now has 24 staff members across two sites and offers high-quality engineering services in the fields of technical due diligence (TDD), order planning and project engineering, as well as wind expert reports and measurements.
The expert team is involved in prestigious projects such as TDD for the Gwynt y Môr offshore wind farm in Wales. This is one of the largest projects of its kind in the world and has a planned capacity of 576 MW. Another prestigious reference project, the village of Fantanele currently boasts the largest onshore wind farm in Romania to date with nominal capacity of more than 500 MW. As of November last year, BBB is also certified by the German Accreditation Office (DAkkS) to perform wind measurements and recertified to provide wind and reference yield expert reports according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
“Our sights are still set on growth,” says Joachim Binotsch, the youngest of the three managing partners. “This year, we plan to continue our push into our target markets of Romania and Turkey, as well as North and South America. Company expansion and staff growth still top our list of priorities,” confirmed Klaus Bergmann and Gerhard Binotsch. They see EWEA (formerly EWEC) trade fair in Brussels (14 to 17 March 2011) as the best platform for positioning BBB products more prominently in the market and expanding the company’s market share.
