10 years of Solar-LogTM– 10 years of Innovation and Production Solutions for PV Monitoring, Feed-in Management and Smart Energy. At the Intersolar 2015, Solare Datensysteme GmbH (SDS) will be presenting the wide range of possibilities for visualizing and optimizing the consumption of self-produced power with the SolarLogTM and Solar-LogTM WEB. The focus is on “intelligent heating with PV power” and battery storage monitoring. In addition, the firmware has been upgraded to implement direct marketing.
Solar-LogTM Smart Energy
Feed-in tariffs are being reduced. Tax incentives and subsidies are being removed. And energy prices continue to rise. As a consequence, constantly rising energy needs make the storage and optimized consumption of selfproduced power essential. Storing energy in battery systems and using PV energy for heating with the help of heat pumps and heating elements are two possible solutions.
Heating with PV Power
The combination of the Solar-LogTM energy management system from Solare Datensysteme GmbH and the EGO Smart Heater from E.G.O. ElektroGerätebau GmbH allow surplus PV power to heat water in warm water storage tanks to a maximum temperate of 80°C. The heating elements are activated to operate at different levels from 0 to 3500 watts in 500-watt intervals depending on the amount of surplus power available. An existing heating system can easily and cost effectively be updated to use this solution. The web interface of the Solar-LogTM provides a convenient option to configure screw-in heating elements. The combination of the Solar-LogTM and the EGO Smart Heater received the CleanTech Innovation Award from DCTI (Deutsches CleanTech Institut) for the innovative solution of heating with PV power.
