Companies from the fields of industry, trade, commerce and services can save tremendously on their energy bills by using their own solar power plants. The upholstered furniture manufacturer himolla of Taufkirchen/Vils, Bavaria, is a perfect example of this. The recently installed photovoltaic system will save the company roughly € 4.1 million on energy expenses over the next 20 years. This assumes that the price of electricity will increase by four percent each year. 3,700 aleo modules on the company’s roofs will be producing roughly 992 megawatt hours of environmentally friendly solar energy each year. And himolla can use more than 90 percent of it itself.
Any company or public institution with a high daytime base load can have high self consumption rates like himolla does. “Ideal system size and orientation ensure that the greatest possible amount of solar energy is used internally,” explains Josef Ecker. aleo specialist partner Elektro Ecker GbR of Landshut has installed aleo S_18 modules with a rated output of some 950 kilowatts on roofs facing the south, west and east.
“Our consumption times are covered almost completely by the times when the photovoltaic system is producing energy. Hardly any solar power is fed into the public grid,” explains himolla production manager Josef Urban. “This photovoltaic system allows us to reduce our operating costs for the long term. And the investment makes us more independent of rising electricity prices.” Quality was himolla’s main factor in choosing its solar modules, says Urban: “As a German manufacturer of high-grade upholstered furniture, we value durability and robustness in our photovoltaic system, too. That’s why we opted for aleo solar, a premium manufacturer from Germany which ensures stable yields on the long term.
aleo solar AG and its specialist partners support companies in every step on the way to having their own photovoltaic system. Analysing the company’s individual power consumption is the first step. It serves as the basis for planning the ideal plant. “A solar power plant for internal consumption pays off for a great many companies from the industrial, commercial and service sectors,” explains Jörn-Bo Hein, director of the German sales division at aleo solar AG. “Large roof areas and great demand for electricity almost always go hand-in-hand.”
