TESVOLT expands sales activities in UK and Ireland

Lawrie Wilson appointed Area Manager UK & Ireland

Wittenberg/London, 25 April 2018 – On 1 April, Lawrie Wilson joined the TESVOLT team to help boost international sales. As Area Manager, he will be responsible for the growing market in the UK and Ireland. Mr Wilson previously worked as a market entry expert and consultant for the battery divisions of the companies Saft, Leclanché and Ricardo.

Expert in battery applications across all areas

Following a career in the Royal Air Force and 4 years with two international aerospace companies, Wilson moved to the technology firm Saft and then to the battery manufacturer Leclanché, where he oversaw the company’s entry onto the UK and Irish markets. Before joining TESVOLT, he was a battery expert within the motor vehicle team at Ricardo and started his own consulting firm in the field of energy storage.

Wilson’s primary focus is on business development and customer relationship management. During his many years in the energy storage field, he has worked on projects in the watt to the megawatt range for across all applications areas on land, at sea and in the air. He is now concentrating on stationary applications in the industrial and commercial sector.

Growing market in the British Isles

In light of rising energy prices and the debate around raw material supply, energy efficiency and independence are playing an increasingly important role in the UK. This is set to drive up demand for large-scale battery systems as a way of cutting costs and spreading risks.
