iURBAN: International Survey on the Smart Energy City of the Future

In the “iURBAN” project, an interdisciplinary team made up of experts is researching Europe’s transformation into Smart Energy Cities. With the help of information and communications technology (ICT), an intelligent energy supply can be achieved at the local level. Even at Fraunhofer ISE, researchers are also involved in the “iURBAN” project. Sebastian Gölz and his team of experts are addressing psychological questions regarding the acceptance of technologies and related stakeholder processes. One of their tasks is to investigate experts’ opinions on what competencies are required to coordinate the ICT systems of a Smart Energy City and which of the stakeholders is best suited to perform the coordination. Through December 4, Fraunhofer ISE will carry out the survey to collect opinions from different experts, especially those working at energy and ICT companies, local government and energy agencies.
