Cargostore Managing Director, Justin Farrington Smith has been appointed as the Chairman for the Southern Region Committee of the Energy Industries Council (EIC). The role of the Chairman is to bring together the committee members in order to shape the future direction of the EIC for the region.
Natalie Melliard, Business Leads and Events Manager for the EIC says ‘Justin was nominated for the role as he is extremely pro-active in the committee, often attending, funding and assisting with networking events. He is a strong leader and advocate for the EIC and after accepting the nomination was voted in by the current members of the committee.’
Mr Farrington Smith’s background in maximising business potential for organisations will be put to good use at an exciting time as the EIC continues to drive strategy forward and build deeper relationships with members to fulfil their purpose to help members understand, identify and pursue business opportunities globally.

His experience mentoring manufacturing businesses, driven by a strong understanding of the customer has enabled him to deliver consistent results year in year out, resulting in considerable increases in shareholder value.
Mr Farrington-Smith has a proven track record of capitalising on the relationships he builds with stakeholders and developing highly motivated teams. In addition, turning around the performance of Cargostore Worldwide, the QD Stores Group and Halls Garden Products and has been instrumental in the integration of major business mergers; Presto and Safeway, Iceland and Booker, and Focus with Great Mills and Smith Do It All.
