Tomorrows Questions Answered Today


One of the few global PV manufacturers to enjoy a 1.5 GW capacity in 2011 with a vertically integrated model that produces high quality crystalline ingots, wafers, cells, and mono- and multi-crystalline PV panels, JinkoSolar is one of the industry’s biggest players. Recently we caught up with industry veteran and company spokesman, Arturo Herrero.

PES: Welcome back to PES magazine. Would you like to kick things off by explaining a little about the company, and how it serves the solar/PV industry?

Arturo Herrero: Thanks, I have been a loyal follower of your magazine and articles for the last few years! And, as you remember, I was interviewed some years ago in your prestigious magazine, so for me it is a big honour to be sharing my thoughts with you.

To give you a rapid description, JinkoSolar (NYSE: JKS) is a fast-growing, vertically-integrated solar PV module manufacturer with very competitive and efficient operations producing in two new factories based in Jiangxi Province and Zhejiang Province in China and with sales and marketing offices and operations in Shanghai, China, Munich, Germany, San Francisco, U.S. and Bologna, Italy.JinkoSolar has built, since it was founded in 2006, a vertically-integrated international solar production with an integrated annual capacity of 1 GW each for silicon ingots, wafers, solar cells and solar modules.

JinkoSolar distributes its photovoltaic products to a diversified customer base in the global PV market, in more than 10 countries, including Italy, Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, the United States, and Australia, Israel and India, among others.

PES: We see that you’ve just completed work on the Tozzi Solar Plant in Italy. Can you tell us a little about the project and the challenges you faced?
