India has a target of 100 GW solar capacity by the year 2022, which means exciting opportunities across the industry. What is UBM doing to help companies to make the most of this? PES caught up with Rajneesh Khattar, Group Director, India to find out…
PES: Welcome to PES Solar magazine. Thanks for talking with us. Would you like to begin by explaining a little about the background of your organisation and how you currently serve the solar industry?
Rajneesh Khattar: Thank you so much, It’s my pleasure. UBM India, part of UBM plc based in London, hosts over 25 large scale exhibitions and 40 conferences across the country every year; thereby, enabling trades across multiple industries. We have always maintained the high uncompromising standards that we put in to our events as we strive for the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and health & safety measures, which give UBM India,
a cutting-edge over the competition.
UBM India’s events portfolio is extremely vast. However, one sector that’s gaining particular attention from all over the globe recently is “Renewable Energy”. We have an immense advantage of being the first mover in this sector and our flagship event, Renewable Energy India Expo (REI), running its’ 10th edition this year, has earned the cult status of being “Asia’s largest and the most influential event” in its’ category.
From the very first edition, it has been our intention to perennially develop the forum by adding multiple concurrent activities. This has turned out to be a recipe for higher investment returns for all participants. It has always been positioned as the best-in-trade business networking platform, whilst offering solutions to the industry players to upscale their operations, by soliciting technology transfers, strike joint ventures and / or access the latest in technology trends across the globe.
