Weve Done Our Homework We Can Handle It

We’re joined once again by A2SEA A/S and namely by the company’s CEO, Jens Frederik Hansen. Fresh from the successful installation of a field of 6MW turbines, the organisation is looking to up its game this year with a contract to install 8MW turbines. Jens Frederik isn’t at all intimidated by the scale of the project…

PES: Welcome back to PES, for the benefit of new readers, would you be able to introduce the company and explain how you serve the wind industry?

Jens Frederik Hansen: Absolutely. I’m proud to say that we’re a major operator in the wind supply chain in that we supply offshore wind transport, installation and service solutions in a wide variety of locations. We specialise in providing the offshore wind industry with safer, sustainable, and more cost-efficient operations – and we deliver this through a unique mix of know-how, seamless integration of installation and service solutions, and quality of performance.

Our specialism is offshore wind, and A2SEA fulfils an important role in the sector. To date, A2SEA has installed nearly 50% of the world’s total offshore wind turbine capacity. We have five specialised installation vessels and a number of smaller crew boats, and can be considered to be a combination of ship-owner and a project organiser. We have around 400 employees, of which 120 work in the office, while the remainder are maritime staff at all levels.

With over 1,200 turbines and 400 foundations to our name, we’re experts at making fast, well-informed decisions to ensure your project is delivered on time, on budget.

A2SEA is headquartered in Fredericia, Denmark, with subsidiaries in Hamburg and London, as well as site offices in the UK and China.
