Example of CS Wind’s investment fully represents the vision we have for the port sector

“The example of CS Wind’s investment fully represents the vision we have for the national port sector. Job creation, industrial, regional and national development and port development aligned with the energy transition. It is undoubtedly a perfect example of what we seek for our country and it is with great pride that we see this investment happening and we sincerely hope that it can grow.” praised Joao Galamba, Minister of Infraestruturas, on the March’s 31st visit to the CSWIND PT unit, based in the Porto de Aveiro, which produces offshore wind towers.

Also present was the Counselor representing the Ambassador of South Korea in Portugal, public entities such as aicep Portugal Global, AIDA CCI, COMPETE 2020 , Firefighters, Port Authorities and the Mayors of Município de Ílhavo and Município de Sever do Vouga, as well as the President of the Gafanha da Nazaré Community Area.

After the presentation of the corporate video, Hee Joung Moon, CEO of CSWIND PT, made a brief introduction reinforcing the investments that have been made in the manufacturing units that exceed 100 million euros in the Offshore unit of Porto de Aveiro and the 15 million euros at the Sever do Vouga Onshore unit. These investments will make it possible to triple the production capacity, with growth going to be around 50% per year to reach 400 million euros in 2025, surpassing the barrier of 1,000 employees. The same idea was shared by Mr. Knud Bjarne Hansen, Co-CEO of CSWIND and Dr. Holger Materlik from Siemens Gamesa, further strengthening the strategic location that allows it to serve the needs of offshore wind farms located in the North Sea, Mediterranean and the east coast of the USA.

João Campolargo, Mayor of Ílhavo said “this investment by CSWIND PT is essential to further leverage the acceleration hub that is the Porto de Aveiro and at the same time a challenge for the entire municipality so that we can respond to the manpower needs that the company will absorb in the years to come. I am sure that Ílhavo and the neighboring municipalities will work together to give a clear answer with the objective of economic and social development”, said João Campolargo.

The program also included the symbolic planting of an olive tree, followed by a visit to the land where the expansion works are taking place at the factory, and ended with a get-together for all employees.
