Energy networks respond to Ofgem’s strategy for electric vehicles

Ofgem has outlined the ways it will support the roll-out of electric vehicles.

Randolph Brazier, Director of Innovation & Electricity Systems at Energy Networks Association which represents the UK and Ireland’s energy networks businesses said:

“Working with a flexible regulator has allowed the networks to bring forward investment of £300 million to support a Green Recovery, much of which will enable the connection of more charging points. The ability to make early investments like this, as well as developing innovative solutions to enable a better, Net Zero energy system for customers across the country, is one we welcome.”

We are the voice of the networks

The wires and pipes are the arteries of our economy, delivering energy to over 30 million homes and businesses across the UK and Ireland. To do this safely and reliably, the businesses which run the networks employ 45,000 people (36,000 in Great Britain) and have invested more than £100 billion since privatisation.
