EXUS WINS CIP ASSET MANAGEMENT CONTRACT FOR 477MW FIGHTING JAYS SOLAR FARM

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners appoints renewables investment and O&M expert for asset management and financial services at one of Texas’ largest solar projects

Pittburgh, September 6th, 2021 – Exus Management Partners (Exus), a leading expert in powering sustainable investments through operational excellence, has been chosen by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) as asset manager for the 477MWdc Fighting Jays Solar Farm in Texas.

Located just outside of the Houston metro area, Fighting Jays Solar Farm will be one of the largest solar farms in Texas once operational. Due to its location, the solar farm will meet the needs of approximately 62,000 homes and is only expected to experience minimal curtailment and basis risk to the premium Houston Zone of ERCOT.

Following earlier trials of Exus’ financial management services in 2021, CIP awarded the asset management contract to Exus to capitalize on the company’s considerable transferable expertise from managing wind farms. Exus will support CIP by leveraging their knowledge to provide custom solar optimization and reporting tools.

Dhaval Bhalodia, Partner and Head of Asset Management North America at Exus, said: “Technical excellence and continuous innovation are paramount for managing renewable energy portfolios in the current environment. Investment strategies need to be based on an understanding of the realities of asset development and operational risks. We’re excited to continue supporting Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners in North America through our leading asset management and financial advisory services.”

Mads Skovgaard Andersen, Partner at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, said: “CIP’s new Fighting Jays solar project in Texas is another key milestone for CIP to help meet ERCOT’s rising demand for power, and large, well-managed solar farms will play a key role in achieving this. Exus’ financial and asset management capabilities for solar are highly advanced, and we look forward to working with them to benefit from their experience in the years to come.”

The deal follows Exus’ appointment by CIP in July this year as asset manager for the 690 MWdc Travers Solar Project, Canada’s largest solar farm.
