Vindenergi Danmark and Mita-Teknik enter strategic cooperation

By upgrading the IT infrastructure, Vindenergi Danmark is supporting the Danish wind turbine owners as well as the green transition.

The electricity trading company Vindenergi Danmark and the green tech company Mita-Teknik have signed a strategic cooperation agreement on upgrading the IT infrastructure for the Danish wind turbine owners. With Mita-Teknik’s SCADA and Asset Management solution, MiScout, the owners of Danish wind turbines are given better opportunities to trade their wind turbine power, and at the same time contribute to further green transition.

The project is realized by combining Vindenergi Danmark’s expertise and many years of experience in the wind industry with Mita-Teknik’s technical competencies within control and monitoring.

Niels Dupont, CEO at Vindenergi Danmark, says: “We are very satisfied with the new agreement. We have great confidence that the technologies and experience contributed to the project by Mita-Teknik will benefit the Danish wind turbine owners. With the implementation of the project, it becomes more attractive for new wind turbines to sell electricity through Vindenergi Danmark, and older wind turbines can actively participate in the regulating power market going forward. The ambition is that the solution can improve the operation for many wind turbine owners, as well as contribute to balancing the electricity grid even further.”

For Vindenergi Danmark and Mita-Teknik it has been crucial that the agreement translates into a future-proof solution. For instance, it will be possible to centrally handle new requirements from the electricity market via the MiScout SCADA system from Mita-Teknik.

“We are very pleased to cooperate with Vindenergi Danmark in such an exciting and significant project. It means a lot to us that we can support the Danish wind turbine owners with our SCADA platform, and in this way introduce completely new opportunities for the wind turbine owners. In the collaboration, we are convinced that we can utilize knowledge from both organizations in our efforts to develop a future-proof platform.” says Jens Betzer Jensen, Vice President Digital Solutions at Mita-Teknik.

The project, which has a total scope of 800-1500 MW, is a very important participant in the free electricity market in Denmark. Both companies have high expectations for the collaboration in the coming years where further digitization opens up new opportunities for the benefit of the Danish turbine owners.
