Subsea UK’s Life of Field conference to look at safeguarding subsea industry

The innovations required to support the British subsea industry in the lower oil price environment will be explored at Subsea UK’s Life of Field conference in Bristol next month.

Sponsored by Baker Hughes, Frazer Nash Consultancy and Viper Innovations the conference will take place on Tuesday, 6 November, at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, Bristol.  The Society for Underwater Technology (SUT), has been confirmed as the technical partner for the conference.

With a focus on the equipment supply, technologies and service models required to support the subsea sector in the current market, delegates will have the opportunity to hear from a range of industry experts from across the country.

A variety of topics will be discussed including control system sustainability, innovative technology and lowering life of field OPEX. Speakers include Joel Ferreira of BHGE, Brian Allen of Rovco, Neil Douglas of Viper Innovations Ltd and Matt Readman of Secc Oil and Gas Limited.

Neil Gordon, chief executive of Subsea UK, said: “Despite signs of oil price recovery, the industry today looks vastly different than it did five years ago and companies are still working to adapt to the changes. The focus is now shifting to full life of field support and innovation, in both technology and cost, to make fields financially viable in the new climate.

“The Life of Field conference is designed to give companies a platform to discuss the ongoing industry wide challenges and explore how the subsea industry must change to ensure it stays competitive and relevant.”
