SolarEdge is announcing that its award-winning EV charging single phase inverter is now available for orders in Europe.
SolarEdge’s EV charging single phase inverter with HD-Wave technology is the world’s first 2-in-1 EV charger and solar inverter. The solution features faster charging with its innovative solar boost mode. By simultaneously utilising grid and solar power for charging, SolarEdge’s solar boost mode charges EVs up to 2.5 times faster than a standard Mode 2 charger.
As easy to install and commission as a standard SolarEdge inverter, the solution reduces workload and costs of installing a standalone EV charger and a solar inverter. By integrating the EV charger into the inverter, the solution offers considerable cost savings on both hardware and labour by eliminating the need for additional electrician and inspector visits, wiring, and breaker installation.
The solution is also available as an EV-ready solution that is future-ready for new EV purchase or replacement, and compatible with multiple EV connectors. The EV charging single phase inverters enables homeowners to maximise self-consumption and reduce their electricity bills by diverting excess solar production for EV charging. Seamless integration into the monitoring platform integration allows homeowners to track charging status, control vehicle charging, and set charging schedules, i.e. charging from the grid during off-peak hours.
This solution also provides PV installers with a means to diversify their business into EV charging.
The EV charging inverter is available in the following power ratings: 3.68kW, 4kW, 5kW, and 6kW, and can be ordered from a local distributor.
SolarEdge’s EV charging inverter has won the award for Most Innovative Solar Advancement from Green Builder Media, New Product of the Year in the Energy category from the 2018 BIG Awards, and BuildingGreen’s Top 10 Products of the Year for 2019.
