Semco Maritime and SeaRenergy secure 5-year service contract with TenneT for offshore grid connection systems and offshore substations in Germany and The Netherlands

TenneT has awarded a consortium consisting of Semco Maritime and SeaRenergy a 5-year service  contract for mechanical & electro-technical integrated maintenance of offshore grid connection systems, which comprise offshore and onshore installations in the German and Dutch sectors. The contract covers  2023-2028 and initiates the strategic partnership in the consortium.

Following the turnkey construction of an Offshore Converter Platform, the electro-technical, mechanical,  structural and automation components must be maintained. This maintenance as well as Corrective & Fault  Clearance works are combined in the Mechanical & Electro-technical integrated Contract (MEiC), which  TenneT has now awarded to the consortium comprised of Semco Maritime and SeaRenergy. Under the  contract, the consortium will perform this scope on 13 HVDC grid connection systems in Germany as well as  7 HVAC substations offshore in the Netherlands.

SeaRenergy has a strong and long-standing presence in the offshore wind industry and a strong track  record in providing integrated services and turn-key solutions to TenneT and other stakeholders in the field  of offshore grid connection systems. Semco Maritime will strengthen the group’s presence in Germany and  contributes with a unique track record from projects with a similar technical scope within Offshore Wind,  including 20 years of experience from more than 20 offshore substations delivered and a number of  balance of plant service and maintenance contracts.

”We are excited to join forces with SeaRenergy and sign this important contract with TenneT for  maintenance and service work on offshore and onshore installations across Germany and the Netherlands.  We will combine SeaRenergy’s expertise with TenneT’s assets, our extensive experience from this type of  assignments and the combined competencies of the consortium to deliver high-quality services and  support TenneT’s operations,” says Senior Vice President, Renewables, Semco Maritime, Jacob Øbo  Sørensen.

“The award of this contract after a very intense EU-tender negotiation phase is a milestone in the history of  SeaRenergy and Semco Maritime,” Dr. Benjamin Vordemfelde, CEO of SeaRenergy Offshore Holding says.  “We are aware of the high importance of our task and are therefore not only extremely pleased about the  award but also very grateful for the trust that TenneT has placed in our consortium. Together with Semco  Maritime, we will do our utmost to earn the trust displayed by TenneT on these demanding installations.”
