Responding to news that Glasgow will be the venue of the COP26 climate change summit at the end of 2020 if the UK is chosen as host;

Morag Watson, Director of Policy at Scottish Renewables said: “This is exciting news for Scotland.

“With Scotland’s abundance of renewable energy resources and the incredible success we have had to date in tapping it, it is only natural that Glasgow would be top of the list to host this prestigious conference.

“Scotland has some of the most ambitious climate change targets in the world, and we are already well on the way to achieving our 100% renewable energy target by 2020, with more ambition out to 2030 and beyond.

“We look forward to Scotland continuing to play its part in the global fight against climate change.”
