Ramboll expands its offshore wind team to Poland


Janusz Czajkowski joins the offshore wind team to strengthen Ramboll’s leading global position and facilitate local growth in the Polish offshore wind market.

Operating from Ramboll’s new office in Gdynia, Janusz Czajkowski will act as a key local manager on Ramboll’s offshore wind projects. His main task will be to strengthen Ramboll’s leading global position and facilitate growth in the Polish offshore wind sector, which also includes to build up a dedicated local engineering and advisory team. Janusz is equipped with a sound knowledge package rooted in his 20+ years of marine, contractor, company management and offshore experience and project management of multidisciplinary investments. Janusz has previously been member of the board of offshore projects, upgrades and conversions affairs at Remontowa SA.

There is a huge potential in the Polish offshore wind market. We would like to capitalize on that potential and bring the best of Ramboll to the market. At the same time, we are well into the particular local requirements. This is the perfect moment to expand our team and welcome Janusz onboard to initiate growth of a local offshore wind team in Poland”, says Tim Fischer, Ramboll’s Global Director for Offshore Wind.

In January 2021, Poland’s President Andrzej Duda signed the country’s Offshore Wind Act into law which came into force and completed the legislative process. The legislation allows for 10.9 GW of offshore wind capacity to be either operational or under development by 2027. It envisages an investment of about EUR 30 billion of offshore wind by 2040. Poland remains the EU member state with the highest share of coal in the energy mix (over 70%), therefore the Offshore Wind Energy is a key for Poland’s green energy future.
