Phoenix Solar AG, a leading photovoltaic system integrator listed on the German TecDAX, is building two solar power plants in Italy with an overall peak power of 8.9 megawatts (MWp). The customers are two project companies belonging to E.ON Climate & Renewables. Phoenix Solar AG is responsible for planning and building the photovoltaic power plants in both of these projects near Taranto in Apulia (6.1 MWp) and near Alessandria in Piemonte (2.8 MWp). Crystalline solar modules provided by E.ON are being used. Construction work on both projects started in October 2010, with completion scheduled before the end of the year.
“We are delighted that, after our first successful project in France, we are now carrying out project work for E.ON in Italy”, commented Ulrich Reidenbach, Chief Sales Officer of Phoenix Solar AG. “Italy is a very promising future market where we will be implementing more projects in 2011 as well.”
“Solar energy is playing an increasingly important role in our renewable energies mix. So, we are delighted to have found Phoenix Solar as a flexible and reliable partner with long-standing experience and know-how in planning and building of large-scale solar power plants”, stated Christophe Jurczak, E.ON Climate & Renewables Director of Solar PV.
