Onyx Solar Advances Phase II of Photovoltaic Glass Project for Avyna Cosmetics in Mexico image

The expansion reinforces Avyna’s commitment to sustainability with over 300 kWp of new installed capacity

Ávila, Spain – 22 April 2026 – Onyx Solar will develop phase II of the photovoltaic glass installation at the industrial complex of Avyna Cosmetics in Mexico, following the successful implementation of the first phase of the project.

Avyna Cosmetics is a Mexican company specialized in the development and production of professional haircare, skincare and beauty products, distributed mainly through salons and professional beauty channels. Since its foundation, the company has focused on combining technical formulation with professional-grade performance for the beauty industry.

 

The new phase forms part of Avyna Cosmetics’ industrial expansion strategy, aimed at increasing production capacity while improving the sustainability performance of its facilities. The project will replicate the photovoltaic glass solution previously deployed, integrating Building-Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) into the roof structure of the expanded complex.

 

The installation will include 2,000 photovoltaic glass units with a transparency level of 38%, designed to simultaneously generate renewable electricity and provide natural daylighting to indoor production areas. This dual functionality contributes to improved energy efficiency, reduced dependence on conventional lighting, and enhanced indoor working conditions.

 

Once operational, the system will provide more than 300 kWp of installed capacity and is expected to generate over 515,000 kWh of clean electricity per year. This output will contribute to reducing the facility’s operational carbon footprint and supporting Avyna Cosmetics’ broader sustainability objectives.

 

The project will be carried out in collaboration with long-term partner Vazquez Vela in Mexico, reinforcing a continued cooperation model in the deployment of advanced photovoltaic building technologies.

 

The decision to proceed with a second phase follows the strong technical and operational performance observed in phase I, confirming the suitability of photovoltaic glass as a scalable solution for industrial environments requiring both energy generation and architectural integration.
