New Energy Husum records massive growth figures

Husum’s New Energy trade fair, which with around 16,000 visitors last year – well over half of which were trade visitors – making it one of the best visited events in the renewable energy sector, announces an increase in exhibition space of over fifty percent for the exhibition in March 2010.
In 2009 there were 148 exhibitors over 6,900 square metres in two exhibition halls. Now, two months before the start of the fair, more than 180 exhibitors have already registered for New Energy 2010. The organisers expect the number to have risen to a good 200 by the beginning of March.
Innovations from all areas of the renewable energy sector will be shown in three large exhibition halls and the open-air section, with the exhibition space totalling 10,500 square metres.

“Almost all the 2009 exhibitors are back again, and will be showcasing their new products on larger exhibition spaces. We are also pleased to announce exhibitors from Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, Lithuania, China, Korea, Finland, Sweden, Spain and the USA. Numerous Danish businesses will also be exhibiting together for the first time on a large communal stand”, confirmed Kira Sönksen, New Energy Husum project manager.

Once again, the main themes of New Energy Husum in 2010 will be photovoltaics, solar heating, wood and pellet heating, CHP’s, geothermal energy, heat pumps, biogas technology, small-scale hydroelectric plants, small wind turbines, and electric vehicles.

New Energy 2010 will be Europe’s biggest small wind turbine show
Results have shown that the Husum organisers’ decision to focus on small wind turbines last year showed they were on the right track, as small wind turbines are now very much in trend in the regenerative energy sector. With over 45 small wind turbine companies already registered, New Energy Husum 2010 is already Europe’s biggest trade fair for small wind turbines. (New Energy 2009: 20 small wind turbine exhibitors). The small wind turbine exhibitors from currently nine countries include enterprises that will be exhibiting their small wind turbines in Germany, and even Europe, for the very first time.

Significantly expanded congress programme with special event for local authorities

On all four days of the fair there will be a number of information programmes in the three congress rooms at the exhibition site, aimed at various target groups. Homeowners and families building their own homes will be able to get valuable tips about energy and advice about financing, while businesses will be able to find out about how to improve their energy efficiency.

Together with the World Wind Energy Association (WWEA)and the German Wind Energy Association (BWE) we will be holding information events and discussions on the installation and use of small wind turbines, and their importance for the national and international energy markets. On 18 and 19 March Husum will also be hosting the first International Small Wind Turbine Summit, with participants and speakers from 15 countries. (This event will be in English, with simultaneous translation into German). The German Wind Energy Association’s 3rd Small Wind Turbine Symposium will be held at New Energy on 20 and 20 March and will highlight current market developments and the planning procedures for small wind turbines in Germany.

New at New Energy Husum!

The future of energy supply:
Climate protection innovations as benefit for rural communities is the topic of the new event on 19 and 20 March at New Energy Husum.

This event if especially interesting for will be of particular interest to local authorities and local government. Lectures, presentations and examples of communal projects will be enhanced by tours of the fair and workshops.

“Here we will be presenting modern technical possibilities, with emphasis on intelligent system combinations and the current legal framework, which enable renewable energy supply especially in rural areas. modern technical possibilities, with emphasis on intelligent system combinations and the current legal framework, which enable renewable energy supply especially in rural areas,” says programme coordinator Gudrun Kromrey about the theme of the event, which is of particular relevance at this time. If the event achieves its promised success, it will become a permanent part of the annual New Energy Husum congress.

The programme starts on 19 March with a lecture in the Husum Congress Hall and will continue with workshops and tours of the trade fair on 20 March.

The event is hosted by the County of North Frisia and supported by the Renewable Energy Agency (AEE), the Schleswig-Holstein Innovation Trust (ISH), the Sustainable Resource Agency (FNR), and Windcomm Schleswig-Holstein.
