Management extension with Sputnik Engineering

Hans Fritzsche will be added to the Board of Management of Sputnik Engineering AG as CSO, Gerald Znoyek will become the new General Manager of the German Sputnik Engineering GmbH

Biel, 18 December 2012: Dr. Hans-Thomas Fritzsche, up to now General Manager of the German subsidiary of the inverter manufacturer Sputnik Engineering, will transfer into the Board of Management of the company as of now and will take on the tasks of the CSO (Chief Sales Officer) along with Christoph von Bergen, CEO, and Dirk Hofmann, CFO. Gerald Znoyek will assume the hitherto held role of Hans Fritzsche. He is responsible for supporting the Germany-wide existing customers and furthermore for the acquisition of new customers, as well as for selling SolarMax quality inverters and services.

Gerald Znoyek can look back on many years of experience in the field of conventional energy companies. Amongst other things, he worked in various senior positions with EnBW (Energie Baden-Württemberg) for almost ten years, the largest power supply company in the South of Germany. By transferring to SolarMax, he wants to reinforce the company and the field of renewable energies and, thus, contribute solutions to the energy turnaround.

“I really appreciate Sputnik Engineering due to the positive working atmosphere and the transparency in all procedures. Moreover, in my function as person in charge of sales I particularly identify with the outstanding services complementing the high-quality products and characterising the SolarMax brand,” says Gerald Znoyek, General Manager of Sputnik Engineering GmbH.

“In Gerald Znoyek we have found an ideal successor for supporting the German market. This way, I can focus on the international business and support SolarMax in developing further markets and in expanding the existing ones in my new role as CSO and part of the company management,” says Dr. Hans-Thomas Fritzsche, CSO, Sputnik Engineering AG. “Since, even if the growth in the field of photovoltaics is slowly decreasing in Europe, there is huge global potential. Only if we manage to leverage this potential, will we be able to implement the huge objective of a comprehensive energy turnaround.”

Under the brand name SolarMax, the Swiss company Sputnik Engineering with locations all over Europe, as well as in China and Australia, sells grid-connected solar inverters as well as plant monitoring and control solutions. In November, the Swiss team moved into the new headquarters in Biel accommodating 300 employees.
