MAGE SOLAR starts module production in the USA

MAGE SOLAR AG, a company of the global MAGE GROUP, is to start producing MAGE POWERTEC PLUS modules at the headquarters of the US subsidiary in Dublin, Georgia, at the beginning of June 2011. Now that the testing and certification process has reached a successful conclusion, monocrystalline modules with a 190 watt output rating and polycrystalline modules rated at 230 watts will begin rolling off a fully automated production line with a capacity of 40 megawatts. Thanks to 5 watt plus tolerances, the nominal output is in all cases guaranteed to be achieved or even exceeded. The 10-year product warranty is far in excess of that required by law. The output guarantee extends to 30 years – five years longer than the average figure for the sector.

The company will be unveiling the US-made MAGE POWERTEC PLUS modules for the European specialist public at Intersolar Europe 2011.

“The start of production is an important milestone. The modules meet the requirements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, a stimulus program of the US government. Our new “Buy America” products give our technical partners in the USA the very best of chances in public sector invitations to bid,” says Dr. Markus Feil, CEO of MAGE SOLAR AG. “And there is a lot of interest – the waiting list had built up some time before we even began production.”

MAGE SOLAR opened the headquarters in Dublin, in the southern state of Georgia, in July 2010. Some 50 employees are currently working in Dublin.
In January 2011 the MAGE SOLAR ACADEMY opened its doors at the US offices and is now turning out qualified photovoltaic technicians from across the United States.
