MAGE SOLAR delivers photovoltaic modules for the logistics centre and supermarkets of EDEKA Nord

EDEKA Nord – a German wholesale company – brings a 300-kWp installation into operation at the Neumünster logistics base in Schleswig-Holstein. More than 1.600 monocrystalline MAGE POWERTEC PLUS modules will be producing circa 270.000 kWh of environmentally friendly electricity per year.

MAGE SOLAR AG, part of the globally operating MAGE GROUP, has equipped a total of three EDEKA Nord photovoltaic facilities with its MAGE POWERTEC PLUS modules. The 300-kWp solar installation at the EDEKA Nord’s central logistics base in Neumünster, Schleswig-Holstein, was brought into operation during a ceremony on July 20, 2011.

More than 1.600 monocrystalline modules, with a power rating of 185 watt respectively, have been installed on a flat roof surface spanning about 6.500 square meters where they will produce an average of 270.000 kWh solar energy per year.

As well as the logistics base, EDEKA Group supermarkets in Schwerin (76 kWp) and Neuenkirchen near Greifswald (100 kWp) have been fitted with MAGE POWERTEC PLUS modules. Further joint projects for solar electricity are planned for the future.

Project planning for the installation was carried out by an experienced MAGE POWERPARTNER, Ingenieurbüro Dr. Lüth from Bad Bramstedt, in close cooperation with EDEKA Nord’s construction department.

“We are delighted to make a contribution to the ecological sustainability concepts of the EDEKA Group with our system components,” asserts Dr. Markus Feil, CEO of MAGE SOLAR AG. “Furthermore our onsite, qualified craftwork partners ensure the highest installation quality to produce the maximum yield and a long lifespan for our MAGE POWERTEC PLUS modules.”

With its broadly based solar initiative, the EDEKA Group is promoting renewable energy. More than 20 photovoltaic installations are currently producing environmentally friendly electricity on the roofs of supermarkets and wholesale markets, as well as the logistic bases of the regional companies.
