KCI launches Double Slip Joint concept

At the EWEA Offshore 2015 in Copenhagen, KCI has presented its Double Slip Joint (DSJ) concept to the Offshore Wind community. KCI’s DSJ is a patented solution to replace grouted or bolted connections between monopile and transition piece. With the DSJ a new alternative for a permanent, non-moving and rigid connection is launched that will last.

Major advantages are ease of fabrication and sharp decreases in installation times and costs. With the DSJ, there is no need for grouted connections to cure and neither for bolted connections to be tightened by heavy hydraulic tools. The tower, nacelle, blades and appurtenances can be installed immediately after installation of the transition piece.
